The subject of Roto-tillers behind the older Fords comes up quite often.
The 4 speed Fords are CERTAINly too fast in groundspeed to run them.
The 5 speeds are 'iffy' depending on soil conditions.
This is why Rotary Hoes/Howard made the gear reduction @ 3.5:1.
The Yanmar you are looking at will certainly be a POOR investment in money and frustration.
Better to invest in some decent tilling implements like a disc harrow and 'springtooth' harrow. Proper use of these was all the farmers of your tractor's era ever needed to ready their ground for planting. Roto-tillers are a relatively 'modern' invention and, in my opinion, have very limited value.
Rent one if you absolutely feel the need.
