I recently aquired a 1996 Ford New Holland 1715 tractor. It has a 3 pt hitch mounted back hoe and a 1708 Loader. When I bought it I noticed when the tractor runs and you are not using the hydraulics, there is a hyraulic noise from pump area, everything was working OK. When I took the Back hoe off, I couldnt get the front bucket to work at all. Put the back hoe back on, it works. The Back hoe is a self contained hyraulic system with a pump mounted to the PTO. Now, to get it to work w/o hoe on, I had to make an adjustment to the 3 point hitch position sensor arm, so when the hitch is all the way up, it sounds like it builds pressure in the hyraulic system and the loader will work. You can hear the engine labor when you get the 3 pt stopped up all the way then give it a little more. I figured out that when you have the backhoe on you need to have the 3 pt trying to raise it up for the loader to work. I tried the position control screw on the hyraulic block on side of engine in both positions, it doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone have any ideas? As far as I am concerned, I should be able to raise loader when I have an implement down on the back.. and sorry for the lengthy post.
