Hi... I've just purchased a 84 1910 model with 1220 hrs.
$6,000 ..
It came with a never used Bush Hog brand 9" auger.
A never used Woods 5'Box Blade, less the scrapers.
A older good shape,5' scraper blade.
A older,adjustable stiff tine 5',harrow.
A 5' older needs work Agri-Fine brush cutter...
The lower shaft on the brush cutter is bent, and it needs a new drive gear..I don't know if repair is possible.
The drive gear,is a 4 bolt pattern.I have yet to remove it from the deck,to get the exact specs, for replacement.
I may be buying a new cutter.
In any case the tractor looks great,it's clean, kept inside, has front weights, and new rear tires (agri version).
Lights all work.I think I got a good deal on the lot.
In any case I'm 59,and don't have much tractor experience.I was a crane operator,for 14 years,but that's another story.
Actually I've never owned any diesel equipment.
This tractor supposedly has the glow plug pre heating, for starting..
I understand the concept, but would like some info about this glow plug arraignment.
For instance...Is there a glow plug, for all three cylinders??? One for each cylinder??
Or is there a glow plug in just one ??
Of course the 1910 has three cylinders.
I ask ... because I saw it stated, that key should be turned to the left, until the red light goes out, then turn to the right and crank...
The tractor obviously isn't perfect, because there is no red light...
The owner didn't mention this, but it appeared he just kept the key to the left, for a number of seconds...Maybe 5 or 6 seconds, then cranked the engine..
It seemed to me to take a while cranking before it took hold and fired up.
Maybe 4 or 5 sec cranking before it started to fire...It didn't smoke, and ran very fine...
This was in Louisiana, and it was a Spring day sunny with a temp of around 72°.It wasn't a cold day... my point.
I'm just asking about the glow plug/s,and if maybe there is more than one..Can they go bad??
It's the amount of time that it took to crank, that has me wondering...
I don't want to have to buy a new starter...
Thanks again for any help / advise.
