hi all,
I had a valve replaced, put the cylinder head back on, put it back together, and now trying to start it. Ford 3000 gas 1966, spark is delivered to plugs. When I look in the carb intake and turn the engine over, I don't see any gas flowing in there, though it's hard from the angle to see the whole interior. When I choke it, however, plenty of gas flows , and it backfires. After trying to start the engine, even with choke, the plugs are not wet. Should they be? If I could be confident that gas is being delivered to the cylinders, then I would say to adjust the timing via the distributor. Yes? This thing hasn't run in a couple of months, when I originally took the head off. thanks from a still-a-greenhorn.
