If your baler is in good shape (sharp knives on the plunger and adjusted right), my suggestion would be 35 HP with a live or independant PTO. Baling is sort of "user/condition specific". Get your windrows right, right gear/PTO speed, know when to get ready to turn, know which way to turn, open area/flat land, my suggestion is fine, Just a suggestion tho 'cause I've baled with an 8N pulling a NH 269, but I would not suggest that to anyone.
