I just bought a 900 series tractor, and I'm getting mixed opinions on just what model it is. The model # is 40306, which my I&T manual codes correctly as having the 172 engine and being an industrial model prior to 1963 with the SOS tranny and dual speed pto, and the non-adjustable industrial front axle. The serial # is 137232, which my book shows as a mid-year 1961 tractor. I'm guessing it's a 981, my New Holland dealer says it's a 1801, and another person says it's an early 4000 industrial. Any other information would be appreciated. Thanks
