rotanium or copper coat as it's called is a good idea to use. we use it on the d346 engines that is the 5.4 model 60 degree, but the d336 came first and it is 4.5 bore. make sure you put the timing pin in the fuel system and the flywheel to make sure your on number one tdc, before putting on the cam box. other wise you can be 180 out and it will smoke like crazy.
