I am having trouble removing the pony engine on my D7 17A. I have a shop manual that I was told was for my D7 but unfortunately it does not seem to be the correct version. The photos in the manual show a different pony engine than is on my cat. I have removed coolant connections, exhaust and any other connections between the pony engine and the diesel engine. I also removed the front bracket that supports the pony engine to the block of the diesel. There does not appear to be anything holding the pony except at the very back end where it slides into the hole in the bell housing of the diesel engine. We can move the front end of the pony with a bar or a lift hoist but cannot move it forward to get it out of the hole and away from the diesel.
Can anyone tell me how to remove the pony engine, or supply me with a manual?
