I know of a 1949 D2 narrow gauge cat w/angle blade for sale for $1,400. The owner says there is a pin between the diesel motor and the clutch which has sheared, but he was unable to reach his hand there to fix it (the small floor cover is off just behind the pony motor main pulley). Is this a simple fix or not? Assuming I buy it and fix it, is this a useful cat or are they more of a toy? Is the D2 with narrow gauge rare? It is supposed to run god. Is it worth $1400? Is the wider gauge model a better cat?
