I have a general question about Cat 315 D, but it involves other Cat excavators also.
About the hydraulics of the machine, is the main hydraulic pump turned on only when something is done (eg. the cabin is turning or arm is moved etc.)?
Background is that I want to remotely know, when the the excavator is working, doing actual work, not just standing there running idle. I need some electrical interface for it, meaning that some component is turned on, when the unit is actually working, and status of that is monitored (voltage present or not).
I was wondering if this could be done when the on/off-status of the hydraulic pump is monitored vai external tracking box, which solution I already have. I'm not an expert on excavators nor their basic functionality, but if the pump is turned on "on demand", that would be the solution. If it is always on, even thou the machine is doing nothing, I must find another solution, which You may help me of course too! :)
Cheers,
Tomi
