Remove the fuel cap and clean it in a solvent tank, or a pan of diesel fuel if a solvent tank is not available. Then blow dry with compressed air from the inside of the cap to the outside. If that doesn't do the fix then I'd start looking at the fuel system. It could be sucking air but they usually won't restart after that unless the filters are re-primed. Check the engine oil level and coolant condition/level. Looking for fuel in both.
