I'm having a problem with the throttle linkage catching on a D8 from the mid-1960's (46A3599). I removed the cover to the lower right of the fuel filter and see that there is a small spring-load cylinder (about 1/4 inch in diameter and 1/2 inch long) that catches the linkage. If I press this in the linkage releases and I can operate anywhere from about 1/4 throttle to full thottle. As soon as I go below about 1/4 throttle, the linkage gets caught and won't go back past without removing the cover and pressing this catch again. Does anyone know the purpose of this catch? Is it supposed to be on a vacuum to pull it in at certain times? Or is the linkage bent such that it was never supposed to go past this point? Thanks, RO
