I am pretty sure the D8K is set up like a D9H,
the steering clutch levers serve two functions,
about halfway out disengages clutch, all the way
out clutch remains disengaged and applies some amount of brake. Your D7E clutch levers are not coupled to the brake bands nor is my D8H.
