I need some ideas! cat tracavator loader 977h year 1965 or 66 . when I start to pull on the lift lever lift arm and bucket quickly start to drop till I pull back about half way then it lifts normaly. I thought it might be check valve in hydraulic control valve. I raised lift arm high ,turned engine off and put tilt and lift levers in hold poision, if I slightly pull lift lever lift arm starts dropping also same action with lift arm if push or pull tilt lever slightly pulling on lift lever, I did this because I thought it would isolate check vale to be or not to be problem. with engine off anf lift ar high I pull all the way back/raise on lift lever and realy locks lift arm no dropping other than very slow drop it has even in hold position migh drop to ground in 1/2 hour give or take.
