Take the tank out. Grab some blue stone or red stone something that has weight, plug the bottom and put laquer thinner or something that removes varnish. shake it thoro. and repeat 2 or 3 times. until it comes out clean. if you really wanted to they sell gas tank sealer. use that just to back up the tank incase you knock out any rust and deveolpe a whole. ive done it on a few john deeres and such. If you can remove the tank do so.
