I was given a DR4 CAT (I think it is around a 37 or 38 not sure, it is a diesel) it hasn't ran for about 10 to 12 years. When I got it home I got the external pony-motor running and engaged the main motor, it started right up. After a few minutes it bogged down and stopped. I tried to start it again and it barley started and stopped again. I check the main fuel line coming into the pump and found that the line was plugged. I had to take the line off the Cat to get it cleared. The problem I am having is that it will not start again. I am not getting any fuel to the injectors. I can not get the injector pump primed again, that is I can not get the air out. I did take what looks like a needle value out of the top the pump, the part that has the pressure gauge on it, but no fuel comes out. There is a plug at the bottom that I took out and it appears that the pump at the bottom is pumping. This is were the main line comes in. There does not appear to be any fuel filters on the fuel line side of the motor. Can any one give me some pointers or point me in the right direction to maybe get a picture of the injector pump and how to bleed the air out of it. Please email me at
