Finally pulled the pony engine and found the nut came off the magneto gear and resulted in breaking the rotor shaft on the magneto the mag gear as well as the cam gear.I will be looking for these parts and I have the Cat numbers for them. Cat Rotor # 4F3684
Cat Magneto gear # 2A4144
Cat Cam gear# 4B870
Cat Intake manifold gasket # 5F9342
Cat rear cover #s L=4B4115,R=2A4147
I also noticed that no oil was getting to the mag,cam or starter engagment gears at the rear of the pony engine. How do these gears usually get oiled? There is a plug at the top of the mag gear housing on the head, could I put an oil line from the big engine to that plug to supply oil to those gears ? Thanks for any help,Don Alves.
