WG !
Thanx for the runaway reminder. Back in 87 while working for FORD dealer had a 5 cyl. BMW engine
Lincoln Continetal come in from another dealer with a "no run" problem. Changed it's oil and looked it over an decided to try start. AND BOY
DID IT! normal at 1st. then ran away as did the
entire parts dept. an serv. desk. Grabed my fender cover and hit the floor on my back and fed it into the air cleaner snorkle. We all figured it attained 5000 r's before I got it stopped all inabout 3 sec's after takeoff.
Layed under fender/car ck'g for u know what in my shorts, and noticed drip out of rear main.
You probably know I sniffed it and it was fuel
Crawled out un soiled, Can't speak for rest of shop that ran, Any way previous shop had mixed up fuel return line with Cam Driven Vacumn pump!Figured eng. was tosted, but was'nt! Customer thought shop was great, and never had another engine related problem again an life long customer. Thanx Again for the Reminder! It brought back that memory I tryed to forget!
Wish me luck,Prayers accepted Gladly. The Dude
