Hectors suggestion right on with side plate. I don't know your fuel pump type. Some near that vintage had an oil pressure control, that keeps rack at low idle until oil pressure comes up, which thru the linkage feels like just a few clicks. Important, have seen plng and barrels fused solid with gunky fuel. Had to pull assy out. Still best to go Hectors suug first with side cover
