Ok, (finally got a good computer, the old one was so old it wasn't working very well on the WWW.)
What I always thought was just a metal cover over something turned out to be a fuel pressure guage painted over, went to take it off and discovered what it was, scraped the paint off the face and it's non working. couldn't find a guage of the right psi range locally so ordered one, it came the other day and the weather's been wet so havn't got back to it. we'll get that on and it'll narrow down the issue I hope.
