Wes,
Thanks for your input on my 3408 miss. The pump I put on came right off old engine, which was running real good until head gasket came apart. This engine came off a combine which only had about 3500 engine hours. I don't really understand how this fuel system works. All the ones I have worked on before have had return fuel lines. And how critical are the connectors that go thru the head and connect to injectors and what do they do? Altho I have replaced that too but didn't make a difference. Could air getting in fuel affect only one cylinder?
One other thing I've noticed is the bottom side of both valves and the area around them are covered with a black sticky substance that looks almost like tar, but I'm assuming this comes from oil not being burned off due to this cylinder not running as hot as rest of them.
Thanks again for any ideas.
