Cat D7 3T came with three different styles of Units rear mounted. 25,27,29 all will work with the exception of the live powered one. You need to look in the side of the unit and find the brake adjuster first. Adjust this on the brake drum shoe, with the adjuster nut. Tighten this nut with minimum clearance between drum and shoe letting the drum rotate freely with out shoe drag. Next you loosen the 3/4 bolt in unit cover (From the out side of the cover, on the side of the unit) There will be a large square nut you turn one way or another to tighten clutch tension, or release tension. With machine running always tighten tension until clutches begin to engage and raise blade. Stop and back nut off until blade stops raising. Now with machine stopped running set in seat and grab the control lever over your right side.Estimate two inches from lever and draw the level the given two inches from starting position to the estimated distance. Stop and return to the 3/4 inch bolt on the out side of the cover and tighten. The adjustment should be right. Note use side cover adjustment on the correct drum side.
