Henry, thanks for your reply on my post of last Friday. Just want to update on what I've found since. Ck'd springs and keepers (valve springs and caps have been changed to new style), everything checked ok, so pulled head and looked at valve and seats. Intake valve and seat showed some sign of rust on face, but more discolored than pitted. Should mention that this engine sat for couple years outdoors and this valve was probably open. Still it doesn't show any indication that it was leaking and I couldn't pick up a leak on the pressure test. Also pulled the piston, showed slight scuffing on one side, expected to see a broken ring, but it looked good, tho ring end gap of .0023 seems excessive. Forgot to get the specs for it. Anyway, that's where I'm at right now, still don't see anything obvious, but it may just be a combination of small things. Thanks again for any help.
