the d2,d4,d6 all use the same right helical starter drive.On my d2 i used a 40mt clockwise rotation starter and it was plenty for the d2. you do not have to change the ring gear as some has been posting. search online for the correct starter drive and put it on your new starter and your good to go. I tried to be more detailed but site wouldn't accept it.Find Old magnets image shack it will help a lot.
