Dug into the engine more today and found it has all sorts of problems- stemming from neglect. Drained the coolant to r/r water pump and found the whole lower radiator pipe is full of rust. Pulled the covers and found the bumpstick (cam) is as junk as it possibly could be and still keep the engine running. Sold the customer on an overhaul. I'll be real interested to see what the bearings look like. Tried selling a shortblock reman but he wants a new oil cooler, water pump, turbo and injectors. Aught to give him years more life now.
