Over the years I have built up a lot of Ft. Idlers
Best way ( with out special equipment) is to use a wire welder of enough amperage,using a high deposition wire that contains a lot of manganese.
Next best way is to use 7018 (or any XXX18 rod)
build up by eye, and grind off high spots.
If it looks good when done- you did it right and the track turn it just fine.
You do not need to take off- its easier to rotate and weld on the machine
Also weld a piece of scrap to the idler wheel for a ground- if you don,t it may cause bearing problems as well losing the arc
Preheat area that you are weldding enough to take moisture out.
