I ran into a simualar circumstance with a 3306 engine, what I found is when I put anti-freeze in the engine with the pan off it did leak but when I just used plain old water it would not leak. All in all it took removing the pan twice to figure this out. Also had on the same type of engine the transmission cooler was leaking coolant in the transmission with the machine shut off. I did have however have oil in my coolant because of the higher pressure difference between transmission oil and coolant. When machine was running trans pressure was over 200psi and coolant is 14psi hence greater difference in pressure and oil goes into coolant. The same principle would apply with engine cooler 80psi vers 14 psi.. engine oil would be in the rad. The root of the problem was the water pump transfering coolant in the pan, even though the exterior hole on the water pump should no signs of oil leakage.
