In Reply to: Common engine problems with 1939 D2? posted by Peter on Thursday, June 28, 2007:
I got the D2 over to the shop on Saturday. I spent most of the day today cleaning, making gaskets, and fooling with the pony motor (the magneto points were dirty).
The pony motor is back to prime running shape, and we were able to start the main engine (after cleaning the carriage and linkage)
But….The main engine is only running on two cylinders.
We’ll dig into it more this week, I’ll try to keep you all updated.
