I have no other info. on max. engine speed,but would be unwise to exceed given RPM's,especially
on an older engine,it would be advisable to borrow a tach.to confirm your high idle speed.
[by removing rear cover on trans.and final drive case,center shaft will give engine speed with shifter in nuetral and forward and reverse gear shit lever in forward position and clutch engaged,provided there is no rear ccu.][Earlier response on shortening fuel rod to achieve a more responsive governer had not in any of my adjustments increased or decreased engine speed to any noticeable affect]
