In california, soon we will have to either repower a non emission engine with an emission rated engine and or install an exhaust filter. Another idea is to sell off the old tractor and buy a newer one with emission ratings.
I have been researching the specs for the K model and the series one L model, and also noticed some details for the M model.
A replacement emission engine for my K model which now runs fine with 5700 hours is about $10 to $15k, and uptrading for a used M model could be about $30 to $50k.
The K model and the L model, series I, have the same basic hydraulic specs, a twin pump at around 37 gpm. The K model is 2550 psi while the L is 3000 psi. The M model, series II, shows the basic model has a single pump while the super M has the twin pump. Most likely I will only find a basic M model (not super) for sale ... so should I change the engine in my well maintained K and not upgrade to the "latest model"? Thanks in advance, Bob D
