I posted yesterday regarding my 580 k hoe. Its actually a 580 b.

My problem with the engine stalling when using the hydraulics has compounded.

This morning started engine and it idled semi rough and smoked a little for 30 sec's then died. Engine seemed to be loading up.

1st I checked fuel and air...all OK.

2nd pulled filter by Hydro pump. oil very discolored. Bluish green. Next pulled plug on reservoir, oil color normal. then pulled plug at main valve assembly by loader lever. Oil color normal.

3rd Pulled Hydro pump. Splines look fine. With pump unhooked I started engine. Same symptom. Idled then seamed to be loading up. I shut it off. I Pulled oil filter and there seemed to be(I think) very light brass glitter in it... if you looked hard enough. Bearing? The engine oil level was fine and it went through a dealer rebuild many years ago (8-10?) but only 200 to 300 hours.

What to do?

What should I tear into first? Is it worth it? What should I be looking for or look out for? I do have the dealers manual.

Thank you for your time,

Jim
