First check the electric power supply to the stop solenoid, see if the solenoid is operating, make sure that the connections are good and making contact,if the electric current is interupted the engine will stop, check the wiring is not grounding as this would cause the power to be taken away from the stop solenoid, the key switch could also cause a problem, you could use a jumper wire directly from the battey to eliminate the wiring and key switch, this is providing yours turns off with the key the early machines had a pull stop.if the electrics check out ok the next thing I would go for is to check that the tank is vented,if ok check there is a good flow of fuel leaving the tank,if not find the restriction and clear it,check the lines are not drawing air,fit two new fuel filters, the 207 engine as I remember does not have a lift pump so the fuel is drawn from the tank through the filters by the transfer pump built into the injector pump so clean filters are a must.
Good luck
AJ
