Check to see if the machine will hold up a full bucket of dirt with the stick out,if it bleeds down it would indicate that cylinder seals are allowing the oil to leak internally,if the seals are bad in one cylinder it is enough to cause your problem,if the boom holds up the full bucket it is unlikely it is the cylinder seals as there is only the one seal in each cylinder to hold the oil either side of the piston,the problem then could be in the port valve for the boom down,could be as simple as an o'ring or the valve not closing.see if it holds the full bucket up and come back.
