The pin with the dimple is the master pin,the old style pin with a locking pin going through it is no longer used, you need to make up a drift (punch) to knock the pin out,get a piece of decent bar a bit smaller than the pin and weld a handle to it two and a half or three feet long so a second person can hold it,it is best to support it as well so it will not be moving about, you will need to trap the link so it is held solid and with a second person to hold the drift give it full force from a 14 pounder, the pin is a press fit (interference fit) so you can expect it to be hard to get it out,if it will not move for you heat the eyes of both links put not the pin,do not hit the pin directly with the sledge as that can cause it to swell and make it even tighter, before putting it back clean the link holes and the pin with emery paper, again do not hit the pin directly, you and your helper should wear eye protection as the pin is hard and can splinter.
Good Luck
AJ
