Never had much trouble with the series 2 L apart from similar trouble with the shift,in the fuse/relay box there is 14 relays,13 are the same the odd one out which is on the bottom row 2nd in from the left standing in front of the box,that relay has to do with the shuttle shift,the original relay has been replaced by improved one part # 347706A1,I just do not know if it will solve your problem or not but Iv'e had to change a couple.
