That is something I never do this last forty years or so is retorquing heads,its not practicle in a lot of cases with turbos and all this other clutted over the engine,set the torque wrench a couple of lbs more,go over the bolts at least three times,set the tappets by doing #1 cyl first,with #1 on compression stroke TDC put a chalk mark on the pully and a match mark on the block,put another mark on the pulley 180° away which will be directly opposite the first,set the valve lash on #1 cyl,turn the engine CW to the next mark,set the lash on #3 cyl,turn CW to the next mark and set #4,turn again and set #2,that will be the tappets set with the camshaft in the proper place while its been done.
