An easy fix If the proper parts or tools OR access are not available..Go to the parts store and buy an "EXPANDABLE" freeze plug...They range in sizes from fractions of an inch to several inches... They are rubber and tighten-up from the outside of the plug..
AND seeing you already know the size..the fix is just a phone call away..
