There is two models of the 580K,the power train differs quite a bit, nither machine shares the transmission oil with the hydraulic oil,the shuttle has its own oil and pump,if its a series 1 it will have a Borg Warner shuttle and the oil filler and dipstick is on the right side of the engine just above the starter motor, the shuttle oil is checked with the engine running on low idle, shuttle in neutral, main in 4th gear, parking brake on,if you got the series 2 the dipstick is through a hole in the centre of the floor where your feet would be if operating the hoe,you check that with the engine stopped and the oil cold, the main hydraulic oil reservoir has a sight glass on the side of the tank it is on the right side down from where the front loader pivots,it should be halfway up the glass, the steering shares the hydraulic oil and pump,if the main regulator valve sticks open it could be the cause of your problem with the hydraulics and steering but not the transmission.Get someone that knows these machines to have a look and show you the ropes.
