Case uses several serial numbers on their equipment, the basic machine should have a serial # plate at the left hand door, the transmission, engine, backhoe and bucket will all have a number,Google for Casece parts to get the online parts catalogue, type in 580C,when the machine comes up there is a drawing of where all the serial numbers are located, get the numbers and ask your dealer to look it up for a build date,it's about 30 years old.
