In Reply to: case 580c fuel pump timing posted by perry on Thursday, September 17, 2009:

If the old pump is still on remove the timing window cover from the side and turn the engine by hand till the two match marks line up, then remove the pump, line up the marks on the new one and fit it, if the pump is all ready off you will have to put the engine on compression stroke #1 cylinder, there is a timing window above/behind the starter motor to see the marks on the flywheel, take off the rocker cover and turn the engine by hand till the valves on #4 cylinder rocks, both tappets on #1 will now have clearance go back some and come forward again till the 8° mark on the flywheel is in line with the pointer in the window, line up the marks in the pump and fit it.
Good Luck
