As a followup to my post last week I removed the front grill and the plate/shield that fits over the hydraulic pump on the front of the backhoe. I power washed the pump and surrounding area. It appears as if their is fluid leak coming from behind the hydraulic pump. I'm guessing a seal needs to be replaced.
I'm guessing this may be a seperate issue altogether from the fluid that is being blown out of the blow-by tube that runs from the top of the valve cover.
I checked the oil dip stick and the level is about two inches above the full mark. There is no signs of coolant or water in the oil.
The engine runs strong as ever with no lost in power and does not miss. If I don't have a bad head gasket and the piston and rings are all ok, what else could this be?
Could hydraulic fluid or steering pump fluid be getting into the engine block through a bad seal???
Need any and all suggestions on this one. I don't want to run it until I make sure I'm not going to break the engine!
Thanks Shawn
