You have the CAV pump with the solenoid on the underside,you should feel the plunger jump inside the solenoid if you can get your finger tips on the body,if you can't feel it jump take it off being careful not to lose the spring and plunger which will fall out when you undo the solenoid,leave the plunger and spring out and screw the solenoid back in and see if it will run,if it does you will have to stop it using the manual stop in front of the throttle,the front of the engine is the fan end regardless of how it is fitted in the machine,if the the engine overheats the buzzer should come on but I don't think there is a shut down device,
