You are a bit clearer now, before you take off the injector pump you need to check a few things,as I said before there are three types of pump fitted, there is a CAV rotary,a Bosch rotary and a Bosch inline, all three pumps have an electric shutoff,if for any reason the shutoff has an electrial fault fuel will not go through the pump, the two rotary pumps has a single wire to power the stop/run switch,if it's a rotary you have check that connection,it should be hot when the key is on,hold the pump switch with your finger tips and switch the key on and off you should feel it jump,if its an inline pump you have it will have the four injector pipes coming off the top in a line that pump has a solenoid to pull and push the stop lever on the pump,it is spring loaded to stay in the stop position, when the key is turned on the solenoid pulls the stop lever to the run position and it must stay there for the engine to stay running, that's why I asked what pump you got, with any of the pumps the on/off must be working properly, you cannot go by the fuel you see coming out of the pipe, the fuel system needs to have a good flow, clean filters in order to pressurize the fuel system correctly, about the pump removal, the pump is attached to a drive gear inside the timing cover, the gear is too big to come through the hole that the pump driveshaft fits through therefore the gear has to be removed from the shaft, there is an access hole directly in front of the centre of the pump, its got a plastic cap that unscrews counter clock, there is a timing pin under the pump that fits into a hole in the gear when its lined up so the pump will be timed correctly when reinstalled, for now after checking the electric on off fit new filters, bleed the system, loosen each injector pipe a few turns and crank the engine over till fuel spurts out, tighten the pipes and start.
Good luck
