Remove the glass bowl and see the gauze strainer and pump body are clean, put the bowl back not forgetting the rubber ring under it,than have a look at the pump, you will see two pipes attached to it,one goes to the filters and the other to the tank, trace that pipe back to the tank, you need to know if the fuel flow from the tank to that pipe is good and the only you can do that is by removing the pipe for to check it,if the flow is ok and all the joints are good fit the two new filters and bleed the system, open the bleeders on top of the filters and on the injector pump, jab the starter till you can feel pressure on the lift pump priming lever, operate the lever till clear fuel comes from the back filter bleeder and close it,then do the front one and the lowest bleeder on the pump, finish with the top one, keep on priming till the lever goes limp, loosen the injector pipes a couple of turns each, spin the engine over on full throttle till fuel spurts from the pipe nuts and tighten them up,start the engine,if it still acts the same the lift pump is number one suspect,to test the pump, remove the two pipes attached to it,with a piece of soft hose held against the outlet nipple and the other end in your mouth see if you can blow back through the pump,if you can the pump valves are been held open and it will only push the fuel back and forth, put the hose to the inlet side and blow through the pump and you may dislodge what's in the valve, test it again,if it is still leaking back the pump needs replacing or tale it to a fuel injection shop for repair.
