ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO I GOT BASICALLY A BEAR 580 THAT HAD A GOOD ENGINE BUT WOULD NOT MOVE. PULLED THE VALVE BODY OFF ,FOUND THE SCREEN PRETTY CLOGGED and and bunch of garbage in the sump. cleaned every thing and the thing would move with pressures bag on. 2 months later we have problems. it will run all day without the additional weight of the backhoe on the back. with the backhoe on sometimes you have 1 hr. and other times it won,t move. pressure at the outlet port of the filter is 300. pressure at the shuttle sit at 150 but drops to 100 or even lower when the leaver is engaged in either forward or reverse. torque pressure with all in neutral is 35-37 p.s.i.strange part is the converter and shuttle pressure drops to 0 when the shift leaver is in neutral or the clutch is depressed. in normal running without the backhoe thee thing will run 5-6 hrs. with no problem. the thing will move with reasonable power even when shuttle pressure is as low as 50 [i have tried 2 different guages with the same result]. i pulled the cover off the shuttle and in neutral it sprays a ton of fluid but also in gear there seems to be a lot coming out between the discs. i have done pressure readings until i am blue in the face and while it indicates a shuttle problem i have no clue why everything reads 0 when the shuttle is in neutral or clutch depressed the thing will even move with shuttle pressure as low as 40. i have the factory manuals and as money is tight i want to make sure what the trouble is . as opposed to replacing every thing any and all advice is appreciated sam
