Hi....first off your machine is a series one unit.Case had a ton of updates done to that which were factory made prior to the release of the series 2.Ok if the snap ring breaks inside the modulation vale you will have to remove the top valve with the solenoids on it,flip it upside down and look at the spool,it should not be open with a piece of snapring inside broken that you can see.if that has happened nothing else will make it work untill the snapring is replaced. The f/r controls also go bad and if you remove it from the column look at the pin that holds it to the column sometimes they push the pin into the control with a small piece of plastic that will cause it to not go forward, go reverse when you want to go forward etc, it will do whatever it wants to. I always change the f/r lever with a new a4 relay(that is your f/r relay)question was your tractor losing power/torque before this happened? if so that is an indicator the snapring has snapped........Paul
