In the past I have had problems with the fuel system on my 580C. It turned out to be the elbow fitting going into the fuel pump. The elbow was clear but the fitting going into the pump has like a small clear ball in it which is under spring tension. I have been able to dig around at that little ball with a needle and tiny drill bit and kept blowing it out with the air compressor. Black crude kept comeing out of it. Finally I was able to free that ball to where I guess when it is under pressure by the fuel it opens and lets it bypass. Now that I have it running the fitting clogs about every two hours of steady use.
I don't think this debris is from the fuel line in that both of the filter are new.
Could there be a gasket inside the fuel pump that is breaking down and clogging this small fitting. If not a gasket, then what do you all think this debris may be from.
Thanks Shawn
