I recently learned that Minneapolis-Moline sold a self propelled forage harvester called a model 1840. Similarily Oliver sold a self-propelled forage harvester called a model 840 between 1970 and 1976. They look to be identical(I think) except color of course, and I suspect White Motor Co. who bought out both MM and Oliver was behind this. I also believe that white Motor didn't actually make the harvesters, as they look similar to Gehl self propelled who was in the business of making forage harvesters. Does anyone know if in fact this is the case ? I have never actually seen a MM, Oliver, for that matter a Gehl only pictures. They must be scarce as hens teeth as they say.
