Watch your ammeter when the engine is cranking.The meter will flip back and forth to 4 amps if the points are making and breaking.My 640 has stopped twice while running.The absence of meter movement led me staight to the points.Cleaning points with a pocket knife got the engine running again.My dad showed me this around 1950 with a cut down Model A Ford.
