Had the same problem on the 2N I'm rebuilding. Had to remove both axle housings as mentioned, replaced arm pins with new, installed new gaskets using RTV sealer on both sides of gaskets. Used a stone to level housing surface and bracket mounting surface. No leaks following reassembly. As mentioned by HR Fields, this is not a small job! At this time it might be a good idea to replace gasket(s) between axle housing(s) and differential casing.
